This summer has been awesome. I spent some time teaching marine science, snorkeled with kids in long island sound, photographed some really fun people, and now, for the week, I am surrounded by 50 of my favorite people in the world in one of my favorite places in the world. My fiance Mike and I met in the marine science field. We have travelled and lived in some amazing places and have met incredible people along the way. We decided that for our wedding we wanted to go somewhere meaningful - to us and our friends and family. A year ago we arrived at a decision and right now we are hanging out in the Sea of Cortez, surrounded by our most adventurous friends and family members. 

We have been in the water everyday diving, snorkeling, swimming, and paddling. It has been epic. Yesterday was one of the most fun dives I have ever been on. It started with sea lions and eels and ended with a whale shark gliding silently overhead while we watched from 50 feet below. 

For anyone planning a wedding, here is my advice. Surround yourself with people you love in a place that you love. It really doesn't get any better than that.
